A bit if an unfair review as we visited in January, and it was cold and not many visitors. All the shops and coffee shops were open.

After realising we were going past this place on our family holiday to Scotland, we arranged our secret wedding here. We got held up by traffic on the motorway, so actually missed our wedding time. The staff were excellent and with the help of the local registrar assured us, that they would hang on for us and make our wedding happen, which it did. I cannot fault them…
The only weird thing was coming out of the smithy after the service and being part of strangers experience of the venue. With lots of tourists taking photos of you. But overall a very happy memory and quite a talking point when you see your marriage certificate.
